Not sure what to say?

The Board of Governors of The Council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts wishes to extend its sympathy to your family upon the death of Mrs. Frances Lewis. Her contacts with docents and The Council at VMFA were defined by generosity, graciousness, integrity and service. The incredible generosity of Mrs. Lewis and her husband made a world of difference for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She really was a blessing for Richmond and Virginia. May fond memories of a life extremely well lived...

Frances Lewis was a good friend of my Mother, Dinah G. Wolfe. They worked together on several community projects. I remember her as a very pretty, very intelligent woman, who was keenly interested in a good education for her 3 children -(Sidney, Jr., Andy, and Susan) - & many cultural events in Richmond. She & her Husband, Sidney, Sr. created Best Products, where many Richmonders shopped for unusual merchandise. The Lewises were "A Household Name" in Richmond & all were active as Community...

Andy and Susie, when I saw your mother´s picture I was reminded of time I would spend with you, Susie, when your parents went to Ny. And their excitement coming home with art (first Warhol?). I also remembered when I talked with her she really listened. As I pursued my career as a psychotherapist I learned what I felt was her presence. Such a gift. Five years ago Bob and I moved to Alexandria to be close to our son and his family. Of course my roots will always be in RVa. Sending you...

Frances Lewis lived a life defined by clarity, generosity, and service. At 20 years old I first knew Frances when I became their first house sitter to live on the third floor of the Lewis family home on Monument Avenue. As my employer, she was forthright and honest-I always knew where I stood with her, and I respected her and Sydney deeply. Over time, our professional relationship grew into a lasting friendship. Later, as I became a school psychologist and Francis served on the state school...

I am sorry to learn of Mrs Lewis passing

As a corporate pilot for Best Products in the early 1980s, I had many occasions to carry Mrs. Lewis and Mr. Lewis to and from Richmond. They both were very gracious, pleasant and engaging in their interactions with our entire flight department. I will always be thankful for the opportunity I had to work and build my career in the employ of the company Sydney and Francis Lewis founded. My condolences to Andrew and all of the Lewis family. Sincerely, Rick Spencer Smith Mountain Lake,...

My association with the Lewis family was working as electrical contractor employee. It didn't matter to them I was just an apprentice electrician while working at the old Ashland HQ/warehouse location to always greet you like anyone else. Even had privilege worked at their home in Richmond. What a blessing this family has been to not just Virginia but the while country May she rest in peace and deepest sympathy to family

I remember Mrs. Lewis as a very intelligent, informed, and cultured woman, who was a good friend of my Mother. They worked together on several projects. We saw Mr. Lewis at his store, & I also knew their two sons, Sidney, Jr. & Andy and their Daughter, Susan. I am sad to read of Mrs. Lewis's passing. The Lewis Family was very active in the Richmond Community & they made many excellent contributions there. I send my condolen-ces to all of them on this tragic loss. "May the Memory of the...
