Not sure what to say?

I met Fran Lyman participating in madrigal sings and other events connected with Tom and Pat Petiet, founders of the Stark Raving Madrigal Singers and the Ann Arbor Comic Opera Guild [ where I was privileged to play oboe in the orchestra for many years]. Later Fran and I both sang with the Ann Arbor Washtenaw Chorale for several years. We also enjoyed going to a couple of U of M stage productions together. She was such a beautiful lady and was lots of fun! We will surely miss her!!

Single Memorial Tree

I am a Japanese who used to live in Morocco for studying. I met Fran at a university there. She took good care of me and well supported emotionally. Also she welcomed me when I went to Ann Arbor. I really thank her. May she rest in peace.

Not only was Fran a world traveler, a generous donor, a teacher, and a librarian, she was also a consummate gardener and a multi-cultural gourmet chef! (See Repast Vol. 41, No. 2 Winter 2025 P. 34-35.) She was my inspiration.

Fran was always the fun cousin who would tell fantastic stories of her worldly travels. She came to visit me and my brother Brooks while we were stationed in Augsburg West Germany during the late 70's. I am glad that I was able to visit with her a month before she died, what a great human being. She was loved and will be missed, and in the her mother's and my mother's Taylor family tradition, there was a saying that we would tell our siblings, which was a quote from our Grandfather William...

I have known and loved Fran since 1977 when she came on an exchange to England to teach in the Primary School where I worked .We hit it off immediately and became life long friends .We always had such fun together especially in the local community choir . I am still a member at 87 of my choir here in France where I now live and every time I sing I will think of her and carry on her legacy .I miss her .

I worked with Fran at the IRBMED for many years. I was always so happy to see her smiling face at meetings. The community has lost someone very special. May memories of her droll and intelligent spirit be a blessing.

If possible, I'd love to be informed when the memorial is held for her.

Fran was a wonderful woman, so funny, always had interesting stories. Loved working at Kiwanis. We will miss her.

Fran's great sense of humor was often self-depracating, so it was possible to know her without being aware of just how much she did with her life. I was so glad to be able spend some time with her during the last couple summers. She never stopped making plans for the next things in her life.
