Curran-Jones Funeral Home - West Springfield Obituary

A beautiful angel departed this world on Monday, February 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Frances Morales was born in New York City on December 2, 1961 and lived in Springfield, MA most of her life. She was the firstborn daughter to Angelo and Martha Morales.  She would soon be followed by three younger sisters who she helped raise and who adored her as she came to mother them in other ways. Frances leaves to cherish her husband, Arnold D. Cox (AC), her son, the love of her life, Antoine McLoyd, her mother, Martha Morales, her sisters; Sandra Morales and her husband Charlie Alves of Springfield, Michelle Tantillo and her husband Rich of Winterhaven, FL, Anne Morales Medina and her husband Genaro of West Springfield, Linda Morales of FL, her mother in law, Mary Jarvis of Revere, sisters in law; Jane Gelin of Milton, Terry Cox of Randolph, Carolyn Cox of Milton, Carla Cox of Douglasville, GA, and Maryanne Cox and her partner Joe Tutrone of Malden, her treasured nieces and nephews; Cheyenne, Isiah, Ronni, Jordan, Derick, Chanel, Herbie, John, Chelsea, and her beloved godson, Gabriel Medina, as well as, much loved cousins and dear friends who were like family to her. She was predeceased by her father Angelo. Frances lived her life on her own terms. She was a spiritual woman who believed in a holistic approach towards life. Her firm belief in the mind-body connection and how you care for yourself helped her to lead an optimal quality of life. She traveled as often as she could and loved to experience different cultures. Frances worked as an educator with at risk youth for many years. She also believed deeply in the inherent power of homeopathic medicine and through her personal greenhouse and kitchen lab she created healing for herself and anyone who found themselves in her home. Family meant everything to her. Frances always insisted on being there for everyone and we were blessed because of it. This was her mantra until the very end.  She fought her disease with grace and tenacity until her last breath. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 am at God’s Way Ministry, 1516 Sumner Ave., Springfield followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. For more information please go to curranjones.com. Antoine, AC and family, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Frances was a strong woman, with a shining light from within. As a survivor myself, I will always continue her fight! May God comfort and keep you always.

AC,
May the love of family and friends sustain and strengthen you as you endure the loss of your loved one.

Michelle may God bless you and your family during your time of sorrow. You and your family are in my heart and prayers.

Frances, my heart aches at you not being on earth anymore. You transitioned to a better place in your own way, on your own terms..fighting and with positive energy. Your earthly presence will be missed, but your spirit lives on in all who knew you. Rest in peace my friend. Antoine and AC my prayers are with you. You do have a comforter surrounding you. Peace be with you. Love
