Our beloved Frances “Mango” Morales went home to the Lord Sunday at Sunrise, October 7, 2018. With a smile on her face she quietly left her earthly home with her family at her side.
Frances Elaine Vargas Morales was born July 16, 1936 in San Antonio. She grew up in Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish, and was educated by the sisters of Divine Providence and continued her education at Our Lady of the Lake.
Besides being quite active for over 50 years with the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Frances was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and El Carmen Catholic church. Her fervent prayer and devotion was to the Oblate’s of Mary Immaculate and the continuation of vocations for the ministry. Oblate fathers, brothers, and seminarians regard her as not only a great friend but as a sister in Christ and motherly figure. She was proud to be a registered member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. We will miss her tender smile, her cheerful laugh, and her scratch flour tortillas which are the best this side of heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Vargas who owned and operated Southern Memorial Park. She married Jesse B Morales Sr. on December 25, 1955, and together they built their business, Ad Lite Electric Co, and Morales Business Enterprise, LLC.
They raised five sons and one daughter; Jesse B. Morales Jr. spouse Mary, Hector James Morales spouse Rachel, Joseph Phillip Morales spouse Esmeralda, Bartholomew Edward Morales spouse Patricia and Tommy Patrick Morales spouse Veronica and Barbara Jean Morales Toudouze spouse Charles Aloysius Toudouze Jr.
Fondly known to her grandchildren as "Mango." Sweet as the fruit, she is survived by 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Frances now joins her son Joseph who preceded her in death on March 1, 2009 as well as a sister, Jeanette Brunn.
