She was a truly exceptional teacher that none of us can ever forget -- she opened up the world to us with imaginative lessons about other places and cultures, and she also shared her warm and caring nature freely in the classroom, which was a model for us all. She was a lovely person, and it was a privilege to have known her. I first met her at Blueberry Hill school when I worked there. We also belonged to the same book group. Fran did her part in making the world a better place in which to live. Betty McCann

Mrs. Scheckter was my 4th grade teacher at Blueberry Hill. When I returned to Springfield many years later, the Scheckters were very kind to me in my role at the Springfield Symphony, and we had the opportunity to present Jane in concert at Stanley Park. Jane, my condolences to you and your family. Your mom will be missed.
