Our dear Noni entered into death's peaceful little sleep on May 11, 2013, at age 92, with the hope of the Bible's promise of a future resurrection back to a paradise earth, reunited with her loved ones, under God's Kingdom rule. Born Rose Francesca Gonnella on June 5, 1920, and was lovingly Italian nurtured in the rolling ravioli hills of Occidental, CA, when at a town dance in 1941, she met Army Sergeant George P. Wetch of Sebastopol, where they both had earlier graduated from Analy High. They courted, married, settled down and soon became parents of two bouncing boys, and while Dad had been a Sergeant in wartime, Mom would always be our Captain of the home front in peace time, for she was so gracious and kind to everyone, and all this love and more came from her, along with a most clever and comical sense of humor, right down until the end. Indeed, her first and foremost career was her family, and how she could cook up her recipes for pasta, perpetta, biscotti and Papa's favorite German dish kassnip and to wake up Sunday mornings to the smell of her melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon upside down biscuits, yummmm! Yes, Noni was truly our Homecoming Queen to come home to! "She was ever ready with a warm embrace, gentle advice and amazing grace. Like chicks we flocked to her nest, she pacified our palates, then let us rest." Noni was preceded in death in 2002 by our Papa, her husband George, of 60 years, and in 2012 by her dear eldest son, Barry G. Wetch. She is survived by her son Mark Paul Wetch and wife Karen of Santa Rosa, her daughter-in-law Kani Wetch of Sebastopol, her grandchildren, Michelle Jackson and Husband Joe of Santa Rosa, Melissa "My Lissa" Wetch of Sedona, AZ., Stepehn M. Wetch of Henderson, NV, Yolanda Brok and husband Hans of the Netherlands, Michael Loyer of Bay City, Michigan, Jamin Margaretich of Hawaii, and many nieces and nephews. All throughout her happy life, Noni was devout to her spiritual needs, in church attendance and services, as she would continue to be in attending the Christian Congregation at the local Kingdom Hall, and how she loved her "Lord's Prayer" (Mat. 6:9-10) and so delighted to learn that the hallowed be thy name of God that she yearned to keep holy was JEHOVAH, and when praying for thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, she was praying for a real Heavenly Government by God, with Jesus Christ as King, to take over earth's affairs (Dan. 7:14), and usher in untold blessings upon our troubled world, when the last enemy death, will be completely eliminated (1 Cor. 15:26) and the untold billions who have ever died, including Noni, will be resurrected back to a then peaceful and secure earth (Acts 24:15), with the prospect of everlasting life, fulfilling God's original purpose for mankind, as (PS. 37:29) and (Rev. 21:4) read: The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor pain be any more, the former things have passed away. Noni, of course, would want all of us to be there when she is awakened from her sleep. So in lieu of everything else, she would hope you, too, will taste for yourselves (Ps. 34:8) all these wonderful Bible promises from such a loving Heavenly Father as JEHOVAH, along with, of course, her melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon upside down biscuits, because when our Italian Noni wakes up, she's going to want to feed everybody! An intimate family memorial was held with Noni's ashes interred next to Papa's, at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, Sebastopol.
