Bradford, NH-Frances (Woodward) Witham, 85, of Fairgrounds Road, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at The Clough Center in New London. She was born in Plainfield, NH on Jan. 4, 1918 the daughter of Wallace and Carrie (Ellis) Woodward. She and her husband owned and operated Sunny Plain Farm in Bradford for many years. She was custodian at the Bradford, Newbury, and Sutton Elementary Schools for several years. Mrs. Witham lived in Bradford for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester, in 1981 and a sister, Myrtie Jameson. Members of her family surviving include a daughter, Rita Grenier of Bradford, NH; three sons, Ronald Witham, Sr. of Newport, NH, Robert Witham of Contoocook, NH, and Alvin Witham of South Deerfield, MA; 9 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Sunny Plain Cemetery, Bradford, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, P.O. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257 or to the Bradford Rescue Squad, P.O. I remember visiting the farm as a boy and I always enjoyed seeing Aunt Frances and uncle Leaster, the barn and the animals.
