Frances Wohead

Frances Wohead, nee Koelling, age 92, of Lemont, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.  Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Rosina Koelling; her first husband Leo J.  Mlekowski; 11 siblings, and other family members.  

She is survived by her husband Joseph Wohead; her children Gregory (Mary) Mlekowski, Stephen (Cindy) Mlekowski, and Diane (Steve) Sliz; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.  Fran had many interests of which included extensive traveling, (Hawaii was one of her favorite destinations), playing golf, and dining-out. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was self-employed as a hairdresser and owned her own business “Fran’s Hair Fashions” in Lemont, for many years. She was a loving, and devoted wife, mother & grandmother. 

Visitation Friday, November 10, 2023, from 3 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont, IL 60439.  Interment at Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.
