Jan. 18, 1949 - Dec. 10, 2014 Francine Rozena Laffitte was born on January 18, 1949 to the union of Genella and Willie Laffitte in Mobile, AL. She departed this life for eternal glory on December 10, 2014. She was a lifelong member of Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church. Francine, affectionately known as " Lady B", was a 1966 graduate of Central High School, alumna of Tuskegee University, and 1968 graduate of Southwest College where she studied nursing. She was employed as a nurse at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center for 28 years followed by Franklin Health Care Center, Mobile County Public School System, and the University of South Alabama's Department of Pediatrics. Lady was a past Daughter Ruler of Shell Bayou Elks Lodge #361 in Plateau, AL., and former member of Rascals Regulars Social Club, Chums Social & Civic Club, and an active member of MLK Civic & Business Corporation. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Angela Laffitte Veal. She leaves to cherish her memory sisters, Darline Laffitte and Linda Laffitte LeDoux; brother, Lorenza Laffitte; adopted brother, Isadore Sims, and adopted sister, Helen Brown Samuel; nieces, Ron'Netta "Mama Nuke" (Jeffery) LeDoux-Henderson, Brittany Veal (Jose) Bezada, Brinee Laffitte Veal; nephew, Ronald "Rowdy" LeDoux, adopted nephew, Antonio Carson; great-nephews, Jeffery "Boogie" Henderson, Neonte' Henderson, Jose-Manuel "Gordo" Bezada, Jr., Roderick "R.J." Veal; two great-nieces, Angela "Nickie" Veal and Queen Bristiti Henderson; godson, Robert E. Jones, devoted cousin, Benjamin Laffitte, and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at the Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church. Rev. Marvin Lue, Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery. ARRANGEMENTS ARE ENTRUSTED TO THE CAREFUL DIRECTION OF REESE FUNERAL HOME 925 S. Bessemer Ave. Prichard, AL.
