Coach Frank would say "what are you saving yourself for??" during football practice in Rockford at St. Thomas highschool. I heard that comment many times in three years. It motivated me to go on and coach high school football for 27 years in WI.

Coach Amato was my track coach in High School. He and his son were mentors to me. His influence was great and I have never respected a coach, or a man, as much as I did Coach Amato.

So sorry to hear about Franks passing. Frank was a mentor to me when I first started as a young guy out of college at Immaculate Conception High School. A very kind man who influenced me in many ways. My prayers go out to his family. RIP Frank.
