Francis Ann Bennett, 70, a lifelong resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 25, 1954, she was a woman of endless love, simple faith, and a joyful spirit that warmed the hearts of all who knew her. Though she faced challenges, her toughness had no bounds. She leaned on her family and friends with unwavering trust, their support a testament to her cherished place in their lives. Her sharp knack for numbers and resilient heart carried her through life, and though her means were modest, Francis's journey was rich with love, laughter, and gratitude. As a devoted homemaker, Francis found peace and happiness with her partner and best friend of 33 years, Steven B. Patton. She cherished her three boys and loved her grandbabies. Francis enjoyed life's simple pleasures-running the roads, playing cards with family and friends, and sharing stories that filled the room with laughter. Her competitive spark at the card table and kind nature were treasures to those who joined her. The youngest of eight children born to the late Henry J. Bennett Sr. and Dorothy Montz Bennett, Francis shared a deep bond with her family. She is the loving sister of Dorothy "Dottie" Powers, Melvin Bennett and the late Henry J. Bennett Jr., Raymond Bennett, Gillis Bennett, Bobbie Bennett, and Mary Sullivan. Her family was her joy, their closeness a rare gift. She is survived by her three sons, Henry Gordon Bennett (Michelle), George Stroyewski (Shara), and Jeremy Stroyewski; her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her warmth forward. She was preceded in death by Steven B. Patton, her beloved companion, whose memory she held dear, as well as her loyal dog, Wendy, who was always by her side during quiet times at home and on the road. Francis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private gravesite interment with a small memorial service to be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
