Francis ''Bud'' Brady, suddenly, age 73, Korean War Veteran. Beloved husband of Rita, nee Strazzante; loving father of Jeffrey (Judith), Stephen (Margaret), James (Mary Helen), and Laura (fiance Tim) Sandstrom; proud grandfather of Jimmy, Patrick, Jack, Kelly, Meghan, Matthew, and Beau; dear brother of Nancy (the late Fran) Frick, and Colleen (Chuck) Schiesser; beloved brother-in-law to Joan and Anthony Gargano and Ida Strazzante; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bud served proudly in the Marines from 1947 to 1951. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester, IL (2 blks W. of Mannheim Rd.) on Friday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Family and friends will meet Saturday, Dec. 4 at St. John of the Cross Church at 49th & Wolf Rd. in Western Springs for a 9:45 a.m. Mass. Entombment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Spondylitis Assoc. of America (SAA) P.O. Box 5872, Sherman Oaks, CA 91413. Arrangements by William C. Rantis. What Can You Say About Grandpa Bud?

There was more to him than most of us know. We did know that Bud enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1947, when he was 16 years old. We learned much more by reading the letters he wrote home to his family. We discovered a whole different life that Bud had lived that we were unaware of until now.

We knew he was proud of being a Marine, and now it’s clearer to us why. He spent two years as a sea-going Marine serving on the aircraft...
