FRANCIS P. COYLE M.D.

Frank was my roommate for three of our four years at Yale, and we made it through Directed Studies together freshman year. Frank was an intellectual adventurer, ready to tackle anything, from philosophy to politics to biology. This photo, taken at my wedding in 1986, captures the slightly mischievous charm that I remember so well nearly four decades on. My condolences to family and friends, who have lost a great soul many years too early.

Frank was an extraordinary scholar and man. As a young man in his formative years, his inquisitive mind was boundless. He gave me enormous pride in his endless search for knowledge and scholastic achievements, culminating in his scholarship to and graduation from Yale and obtaining his Medical degree. Frank's brilliant mother, Helena played a huge part in his academic success. Frank conveyed kindness and respect to all with his usual smile. I will miss Frank dearly and pray he rests in...
