Francis W. Davis, 86, husband of Cynthia (Morse) Davis, of Gloucester, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28th, 2014. Frank was born in Portland, Maine on February 13, 1928, son of the late Barrett and Mary (Shea) Davis. He was a graduate of Westbrook High School with the Class of 1946. Following high school, Frank had served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Providence. He then began his career at the General Electric plant in Lynn where he worked as a machinist for 25 years until his retirement in 1988. He had a great love of music, and was an accomplished bass guitar player and had performed with many country-western bands throughout his life. Following his retirement, Frank enjoyed playing golf and woodworking at his home and handcrafted many lovely and cherished gifts for family and friends. Frank is survived by his wife Cynthia. In addition, he is survived by his children, Gayle Brunet and her husband Arthur of Danvers, Randy Davis and his wife Maryann of Beverly, Lisa Ryan and her husband Jeff of Salem, Richard Davis of Salem, Robert Davis and his wife Jeanne of Greene, ME., Darryl Davis and his wife Gina of Peabody, Wendi Mattos of Salem, Christopher Davis and his wife Sharon of Peabody; grandchildren, Dannielle and Jillian Brunet, Jason and Christopher Davis, Erick Hussey-Ryan, Dereck, Jeffery, Nicole and Paige Ryan, Dylan, Ricky and Holly Davis, Michael and Mikayla Davis, Allison and Donny Mattos, Taylor Davis; and six great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by three step children, Julie Thompson, Becky Chapman and Dana Sargent; and five step grandchildren. At his request, there are no funeral services.
