Not sure what to say?

Dear Friends:

Thank you for the kind online words about my father. He lived a remarkable life - right up to the very end. He died on Easter morning in his own home - very peacefully without any pain and with all his faculties. And so he died just the way he lived his life and we all feel lucky for that, and now he is in God's hands.

Best wishes,
on behalf of
The Downey Family

My sincerest condolences to the Downey Family. Mr. Downey demonstrated the best in the teaching profession. He was the consumate gentleman and a fine Democrat. I remember him fondly. LHS 1968.

We were very fortunate to have had such a dedicated member of The New York State Retired Teachers' Association. May he rest in peace.

To the Downey family;

Thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Mr. Downey was a valued member of NYSRTA and he will be missed.

On behalf of the Western Zone of the New York State Retired Teachers' Association, sympathy and prayers are extended. In Francis' memory, a donation will be made to the Robert DeCormier Fund of NYSRTA, which assists retired educators in need. May he rest in peace!

I am sad to learn of Bud's death. Although I have been away from Lackawanna for several decades my heart is still there. It is forever "home" like nowhere else I have lived. God bless. I hope you can rejoice in his life well lived. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Dorothy and The Downey Family, Bud was a gentleman at all times.A well-respected member of our community.His good works touched all of us in our Lackawanna Community.MY prayers are with the family.

Dear Aunt Bebe, Our phone conversation said it all. Your TLC kept Uncle Buddy to be the oldest male Downey. Without your support, I'm certain he never would have been able to continue. Iwill be at mass here in Sarasota but my prayers and thoughts will be at OLV. Love to all of you, Karen

Dear Mrs. Downey and Family, We are sorry to hear of your loss. We think of you often, and pray for you and your family during this time.It was a pleasure being your old neighbors, we miss you and hope you take care of yourself now.JeanE., Dave, Audrey & Madalyn Concialdi (MacVicar)
