Francis C. Gingras, of 35 Lennon St, Gardner, a longtime teacher at Gardner High School, died on August 10, 2013 at the age of 90 years. He leaves a sister-in-law, Barbara (Woodman) Gingras, of Gulf Shores Alabama; nephews and nieces: David C. & Mary Jane Gingras of Harrisburg, PA and Robert & Ann Gingras of North Billerica; other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond E. Gingras, of Gulf Shores Alabama and Roger K. Gingras, and his wife, Theresa, of Gardner. Francis was born in Gardner on October 5, 1922, the son of the late Euclid J. and Alma M. (Carlson) Gingras. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1940 as Class President and Valedictorian. He earned a BS degree from Bates College, Lewiston, ME and an MS degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He taught chemistry and physics at Gardner High School for 19 years, retiring in June 1984. He had previously taught in Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut. He was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Gardner and several retired teacher's organizations. He was the coordinator for the Greater Gardner Vision Support Group. At Francis' request, there are no funeral services planned. There will be no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in the Crystal Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, in Francis' memory, to the scholarship Fund of the Faith Lutheran Church, 627 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
