Francis J. Kiley, age 95, of Somerset, formerly of Walpole, passed away on March 6, 2017 after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Lynch) Kiley to whom he was married for almost 50 years. Born in Somerville, he was the youngest of six children born to James and Johanna (Dalton) Kiley. He attended Catholic schools and graduated in 1940 from Our Lady's Help of Christians High School in Newton. Mr. Kiley was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S Army Air Corps where he was a member of various B-24 flight crews prior to his honorable discharge in 1946. He worked in various positions at Forte Fairbairn, Bird & Sons, Inc. and Microcom Electronics during his career while married and raising his family in Walpole, where he resided for over 50 years. He was communicant at St.Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Norwood during most of that time. Francis is survived by his son, Attorney Stephen Kiley and daughter-in-law Janel Lafond Paquin of Somerset as well as his step granddaughter, Jennifer Gilbert and her husband Brian and their children Thomas and Matthew. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings John, Margaret, Anna (Bowes), Edward and James. The family would like to thank the staff at the Clifton Inn in Somerset where Francis resided for almost 6 years, the Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center where he lived for the last year and the Clifton Hospice team during his last days. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Francis' visiting hours on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 4-7 PM and Friday, March 10, 2017 from 9:30-9:50 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Timothy Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
