LANG, Francis, Jr. Francis George Lang, Jr. Feb. 19, 1932 - Sept. 30-2011 Francis G. Lang, Jr. passed away September 30, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father Francis G. Lang, Sr. and mother Dorcas G. Lang. Frank was born in Syracuse, NY. He attended high school at Tokyo American High school Meguro in Tokyo, Japan. "Sonny", as his teammates called him, excelled in sports. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond, Richmond, VA and was an initiated member of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Frank served one tour of duty during the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received many distinguished service awards to include two Purple Hearts for injury during battle. Frank is best remembered as being a loving husband and father to his family. He enjoyed vacationing and travel. Frank also was an artist and often sketched and painted places where he had been. He was a very creative individual. He will be missed greatly. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Jean Melton Lang; daughter and son-in-law Lori Lang Shroyer and John Shroyer of Fort Bragg, NC; daughter Patricia Lynn Lang Murphy of Gainesville, GA; sister Elizabeth Davis of Jacksonville, FL; grandsons, Thomas Andrew Murphy and Johnny Shaw; granddaughters, Kathleen Ann Shaw and Allison Marie Shaw; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 3 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Interment will be held at a later date in Kentucky. Carl J.
