Just learning, very sadly, of Boe's passing the day after receiving another memory of him and our Little League teammates who played for Warren's Steak House. Boe was the dynamic catcher and team leader in 1967, the beginning of "The Big Red Machine" dynasty. I succeeded Boe in the squat (though not built like him), and his were big, intimidating cleats to fill. His skill, big personality and drive left an impression that has remained across the decades.
