Dear McGowan Family,

I am very sorry to hear of Frank's passing. Although I have followed his life mostly from afar, I would like you to know how truly inspirational I found him to be. Now that I am also a parent at mid-life, I can well appreciate the enormity of that life-change and am awed by his example of...

To Aunt Eileen and all my cousins: I am so sorry for the loss of your father and my uncle. I remember when I was a little girl Uncle Frank would visit us and recite the "Jabberwocky" for me over and over. He was a wonderful influence on me in my childhood. Although it has been a few years since I've seen Frank, I remember him lovingly. .

We share in your loss of a fine and intellectual man, a man who was loved by friends and family. Frank's wit and poetry will be missed.
Our love and sympathy to the McGowan family.
