In the fifties after the Corpus Christy Procession there was a gathering of athletes on the baseball diamond. Junior Wurth, Austin Poat, Francis Scheer & Catherine Scheer & a few more. They all took turns racing around the base paths. Catherine beat Jr & Austin. Francis with his army fatigues & boots on beat everyone. Martin a younger brother years later out ran everyone in McCracken Co.
