Not sure what to say?

Please excuse my late entry, but I have just now learned of Frank X. Scott's passing. May I say that he was a profound influence on me - having taken his special course entitled "Contemporary Thought" as a senior at WHS in 1973. I recall reading and analyzing Alvin Toffler's "Future Shock" in that class, which gave me a first taste of college-level academia. There was a delayed reaction in me, but after a few years, I went on to obtain a college degree and later a Masters - much of which I...

Mr. Scott changed my life through his teaching, showing me how to see the world in a new way. He was my teacher 40 years ago, and I still think of him often. My sincere condolences.

Dear Cindy, Erin, Kelly, Allison and Arlene. My parents told my about FXS's passing. We all grieve with you. He was a great man and I always enjoyed my conversations with him, either in your living room or in his office at school. I never had FXS as a teacher in the classroom, and yet he taught me more about what it means to be a genuine person and a real man than anyone I've ever met. The best way to measure a man is to look at how many people he impacted and touched while he was on this...

My sympathy to the Scott family. I remember Mr. Scott from my years at WHS. May God's peace be always with you.

Mr. Scott reminded me on several occasions that I needed to improve my vocabulary. As I now struggle to find words to convey my sympathies to the entire family and appreciation for all he did for me, it seems once again Mr. Scott was correct.

Thank you for sharing your husband and dad with so many of us. His support, encouragement, and faith meant quite a bit to me.

My first meeting with Mr. Scott was being pulled into his office to be 'encouraged' to strive for more...

Mr. Scott was one of most challenging and engaging teachers I've every had. He was caring, outspoken and tough in a very good way. My English class with him at WHS was one of the best classes in my life. My Condolences to his family.

My condolences to the family. Your husband, father and grandfather was a wonderful teacher. I had him for several high school English courses. He made books come alive. He pushed his students hard and demanded their best work. If you did not write well when you entered his course he would work with you to ensure you were a better writer by the end of his course. I was an average student; his high expectations made me a much better student and helped me prepare for college level classes. ...

He was a great and respected teacher at WHS!

To Kelly, Erin, Cindy, Allison and Mrs. Scott. My parents sent me an email with this link. They were surprised and saddened by your loss as was I. I just want you to know how much the support and friendship of each of you individually and as a family, at a time when I really needed it, has meant to me all these years. I'm sorry for the vacancy your father's passing will leave in your lives.

Sending lots of love to you.
