Tuck was my teacher while I was at PCA the old building. He was also my private instructor for 3 years in methods and materials of the ancients. This included teaching me how the ancient Egyptian artist used encaustics for the mummy mask especially the Fayum Egyptian portrait artist who painted realistic portraits for the sercofacas. I work at the UArts Greenfield Library. Professor Tucker probably visited the library every day that he came to teach at UArts. He was so sweet and friendly and always had a kind word; we miss him.

Tucker at his best

I met Tucker which is what he told his students to call him, after becoming a wife & mother returning to school. I thought I'd feel awkward and out of place being much older than most of the other students. But Tucker had a way about him that made all the students feel friendly with each other. Francis will be missed by many at our Deli Counter where I first met this very nice gentleman. We became friends and shared conversation when he took a break from his studio work and enjoyed a bowl of soup and his cup of coffee. I am glad to have made his aquintance and send my heartfelt sympathy to your family. You will be missed.

To my friend, my teacher,my framer and someone i could always confide in....i will miss you dearly ...i will always remember all the knowledge you shared with me...my art is what it is today because of you.....how do thank someone who has given me one of the greatest gifts...knowledge. I love. and miss you dear friend.

We are so sorry hearing of the passing of Francis. He will be missed. He always had a joke for us, whenever he came into my office with daisy. Please let us know where the memorial service is being held.
