Hope, Jenny, Angie, Jack, Jessie, and Mikey, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was an exceptional lady, a great freind to my parents and a great friend to me. I moved from Oxnard to Fresno years ago to attend college and ended up living here for many years. My mother would often ask her to check up on me and likewise my mother would always ask me to call her and check up on her. Your mother would always pick up the phone and call me to see how I was doing and ask me how my kids were doing. When I worked at Fresno State, she would often invite me over for lunch and I would often come over for an hour and sit with her while she fed me beans and homemde tortillas and sometimes tamales, those were the best meals ever. I remember her working at Ballentine's and often giving me fruit and I can see her still driving her little white Honda and I also remember the day she told me that she wouldn't be driving any more and she was giving her car to one of her grandkids. Your mom always had jokes to tell and was always cheerful. She often talked about all of her kids and her grandkids and I remember how sad she would get when she would talk about losing Manuel. I will never forget the great conversations we had and the advice she often gave me which I will always hold close to my heart, I will hold your mother's memories always close and will always be grateful that God allowed me to have been a part of her life. I pray that the love of God give all of you comfort during this difficult time. Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Love, Rosa H. Rodriguez, Camarillo, CA
