APODACA - Francisco R. Apodaca, 71, native of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010. He was survived by his children, Elaine Sanchez and husband, Michael T., Paul Apodaca and wife, Rosemary, and Ralph Apodaca and wife, Eva; grandchildren, Christopher and Gennifer Sanchez, Jerome Apodaca, David and Joe Brown, and Christina and Joseph Apodaca; three great-grandchildren; and special niece, Barbara Delaguerra and husband, Don. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Anita Apodaca. Our father was one of those hard working fathers. He loved working for the Albuquerque Public Schools and the 150th Air National Guard. He loved talking to kids and helping teachers at all the schools. He also enjoyed serving his country, supervising the young airmen and showing them how to do their job. To his friends he was a very kind person and was always ready to help. He always had a solution to a problem and had his ways of making things simple. He never asked anybody for help, but he was a very generous man, and he never wanted to be acknowledged for anything he did. When he helped he simply helped. He showed strength until the end and still had some enlightening words for us. We promise that we will continue what my father has started. I know we will be filling huge shoes but with your help I think we can do it. Let’s just remember everything that my father shared with us. Let’s be happy that he has finally gone home to our creator in heaven. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 26, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at French~Wyoming Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 27, 2010, 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church, 1837 Alvarado Drive NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
