FRANCISCO "FRANK"
ESCUDERO ARAGóN

Passed away suddenly on June 13, 2013 in Woodland Hills, California. Born and raised in the City of San Fernando on July 4, 1930, Frank is survived by his beloved children: Joe Aragón, Mike Aragón (Marcia), María Aragón, Katy Bianchi (Robert), and Frank Aragón (Amanda Quintero). Frank was the adored "Papa" to his grandchildren: Michael Aragón, Christopher Aragón, Thomas Bianchi, Cavanaugh Aragón, Alyssa Aragón, Matthew Bianchi and Katrina Bianchi. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Kay Cavanaugh Aragón, whom he married in 1963. Frank was the beloved son of the late Maximiliano Aragón and María Escudero.

Mourning the loss of a cherished brother is his sister, Helen Aragon; his sister, Bertha Bermúdez; and his brother, Rudy Aragón (Laura). Frank was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, cousin and dear friend to all who knew him.

A life-long resident of the City of San Fernando, Frank graduated from San Fernando H.S. in 1948. During his high school career, he was the star quarterback for the mighty San Fernando Tigers. Shortly after graduation, Frank joined the family plumbing business and few years later started a construction company with his brother Rudy. In the early sixties, Frank, his brother Rudy and childhood friends formed The Vermont Oaks Corporation and built the first shopping center on Lyons Avenue in Newhall, CA.

Frank was a visionary pioneer and in the early 70's formed the corporation "Valley Pride," which built the first low income senior citizen housing, in Sylmar, serving the Latino community. Valley Pride stands, today, as the standard for other senior living centers. Throughout his career, Frank and his three sons built hundreds of houses together. Frank's intellect gave birth to many innovative ideas. Prior to his passing, he filed for a patent for one of his many inventions. Frank's beautiful smile, twinkling eyes, and loving heart will be missed by all who knew him.

A Rosary for Frank Aragón will be held at the Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary Chapel, 11160 Stranwood Ave., Mission Hills, CA, on Wednesday, June 26th, 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Thursday, June 27th, 10:30 a.m., at the San Fernando Mission Del Rey Church, 15151 San Fernando Mission Blvd, Mission Hills, CA. A celebration of his life will follow at the home of Robert and Katy Bianchi. Directions will be provided after the services.
