GATICA, Francisco R. – Of Flint, age 79, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at McLaren-Flint.



 



Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2316 West Coldwater Road, Father Paul Donnelly officiating.



 



Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.



 



Those desiring may make contributions to the Building Fund at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.



 



Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.



 



A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



 



Mr. Gatica will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.



 



Francisco was born in Sinton, Texas on September 17, 1937, the son of Felix and Vicenta (Rodriguez) Gatica.



 



On February 2, 1963 he married Lydia Rodriguez in Oakley, Michigan.



 



He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Knights of Columbus Council and member of Crusillo.



 



He loved bird watching, building bird houses, action movies; but mostly loved family trips and spending time with his family.



 



Mr. Gatica retired from GM and was a member of UAW Local #659.



 



Surviving are wife, Lydia;



 



children, Jeff Gatica and husband J.P. Delabre of Cincinnati, Ohio,



Christina and husband Daniel Tilden of Burton;



 



grandson, Brendan Tilden;



 



sister, Connie and husband Mike Spooner of Durand;



 



brothers, Maurisio and wife Shirley Gatica of Mt. Morris and Felix Gatica of Flint;



 



step-sister, Gloria Quinones of Flint;



many nieces and nephews.



 



He was preceded in death by daughter, Yvonne; parents, Felix and Vicenta Gatica; many brothers and sisters.
