In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

I wore a button for Francois Jean-Pierre as we performed the Mozart Requiem at 8:46 am on September 11, 2002 as part of the international Rolling Requiem.

Rest in peace and may God bless you and the ones that you left behind on 9/11/01.
