Not sure what to say?

To the Bensen Family:

It's been a long time since i worked at the Whitie Benson store years ago before i went to college and stuff. I didn't hear about Whitie's passing until now. He was a very good person i worked with (and his son Kyle Bensen) since i was still in and graduated from West Haven High School. My condolences goes out to the Bensen Family.

God Bless

Was so sorry to hear of Whitie's passing. Growing up in West Haven you always knew where to go for all your hockey needs. Whitie equipped my two daughters from pee-wee to college and always made it a fun time in the store with his humor and you could see the joy he displayed in his craft.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Kyle and the entire Bensen family.

Thanks for all your help, Whitie!

I was so sorry to just hear of Whitie's passing. He will never be forgotten in the minds and hearts of the many athletes who have crossed his path. I have always loved coming to his store for you guys to help figure out adaptations to my equipment for playing in net with sled hockey. He was always excited about finding ways to adapt my equipment. He will be missed but not forgotten.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Kyle and the entire Bensen and Cooper family's. Knowing Whitie for ions, it was always a good day to talk hockey for the many hours we shared about a game we loved.

Sorry to hear of his passing, but know he's now running the big rink in the sky.

To my Cousin Frank's children: I don't believe we have ever met. I am so sorry at the passing of your Dad. My prayers are with you.

Having moved to Florida, I did not hear of Whitie's passing until now. I will never forget his guidance and assistance when I founded the Junior Nighthawks in 1973.
Whitie was a great friend. He will not be forgotten.
God bless.

Condolences and prayers to the Bensen Family for your loss. I'll never forget my trips as a young hockey player to Whitie's store in downtown West Haven and later the trips to the store in its present location with my own kids. If you grew up playing hockey in CT over the past 35 years, you knew Whitie Bensen Athletics and probably Whitie himself. Whitie is an icon among the CT hockey community. He will be missed.

Kyle and Family, Our deepest sympathy on your loss. Mr.Bensen was a Great person and friend, he will be missed by many.
From The Harney Family

Kyle and family, my deepest sympathy your Dad (Whitie) if it was not for him giving me my first goalie equipment I would never have fell in love with Hockey. I remember the rides to the berkshire hockey school for years, I remember all the good he did for the sport and his modest nature of thinking nothing of helping a youngster or school. But most of all I will miss his friendship and his laugh which was contagious, one of the best human beings I will ever know this is a sad day, going in...
