Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services - Kellyville Obituary

Frank Briscoe passed away on July 18, 2021, at the age of 85, in his hometown of Kellyville, Oklahoma.  His battle with cancer in the recent years showed his courage in his ability to face life challenges with a smile and quick wit.  Despite undergoing strenuous treatments, he managed to keep his outlook positive and lovingly harass all his healthcare workers with his orneriness intact until the very end.

Frank was born April 7, 1936, in a small house in Kellyville, Oklahoma.  He is a graduate of Kellyville High School and worked as a printer until he retired in 2001.  He married Tonye in 1974, and with her raised his 6 children.

He attended Westside Freewill Baptist Church with his wife and his cherished church family.

Frank enjoyed old cars, restoring clocks, mowing his lawn, listening to Southern gospel music, and making people smile.  Often armed with a quick joke in hand, he kept you on your toes when he was around.  He thoroughly enjoyed watching his many grandchildren grow up over the years, and if a baby was in the room, you would often find that baby being cradled in his arms.  He had a caring and compassionate heart, an often-unexpected sense of humor, and was always armed and ready with advice for any home project or car repair.

Frank is survived by his wife Tonye, his children, Gary (Erica) Briscoe, Cheryl Barnes (Frank Morrison), Sandy Crall, Jerry (Cera) Jones, and Tina (Reggie) Ripple.  This amazing Papa (or Poppy) is survived by his 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Frank was also survived by a host of cherished nieces, cousins, and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his son Frankie Briscoe, his mother Eula McGuire, his brothers Paul Holland and Art Holland, and sisters Ruth Hampton, Ruby Swan, Francis Luper and Mary Boyd.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Big Dawg.

Services will be July 23, 2021, at 2pm at Westside Freewill Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be offered at Traditions on July 22nd from 6-8pm.

So very sorry for the families loss

Sorry to hear for your loss

This is a man that will be very much missed by many many people, for me he was a wonderful kind, loving man that I very much enjoyed being around. I am proud to have been his friend Frankie you're going to be missed I love you and all your family

My sympathies for Frankie’s family, especially to his wife and my friend Tonye. I only knew Frankie through conversations with Tonye, and know of his great faithand I know he met life and the end of life on his own terms. The stories of his strength and love for his family were inspiring and the source of no small amount of humor. He is now in the nearer presence of the Master who he worshipped and followed.

We will miss this loving and Godly man so much. I have early childhood memories of Frankie. As a teenager I remember him praying with me and putting in a request for me to sing a particular song for church. The Briscoe family are in our prayers!! We love you! ❤
