Frank B. Buonaiuto

Frank Buonaiuto Frank B. Buonaiuto, 83, of Fairmont went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 9th at the home of his son. He was born June 17, 1930 in New York, to Frank and Jennie Buonaiuto. He married the love of his life, Sheila Buonaiuto, in May of 1951. He was with her in heart, soul, mind and body until her passing last November. Sheila suffered from a disability, and he cheerfully served her all of their married life. Frank is survived by two sons, Mark Buonaiuto and his fiance, Lori McDavitt, of Evanston, Illinois, and Richard Buonaiuto and his wife, Sharon, of Fairmont. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Megan, Jennie, Sarah, Emily, Christopher, Joseph, and Michael; and by his great grandchildren, Alex and Benjamin. Frank had a deep love for his family, and poured out his life caring for them. He proudly served as a United States Marine and spent his working life in various trades before settling into a long term career with Allstate Insurance Company. During his time with Allstate, he diligently worked his way up from adjuster to property unit manager, and later served as a security analyst. During his retirement years, Frank enjoyed buying and remodeling old houses and even built one house from the ground up. He was never idle and always found a productive task to set his hands to. Frank worked behind the scenes as a deacon at Tree Of Life Church. His servant heart led him to do anything that needed to be done, from making coffee and folding bulletins, to visiting the sick and giving people rides to church. Even at 83 he could be seen with a shovel in hand on snowy Sunday mornings. He always cheerfully greeted all who walked through the doors of the church. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jennie Buonaiuto and seven siblings, and is survived by his brother, Donald Bennett, and his sisters, Josie Licausi, Mattie Widner and Betty Hart. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St. Fairmont on Thursday from 2-8 pm and Friday from 11 am – 12:30 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 12:30 with his son, Rev. Richard Buonaiuto officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown where full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
