Not sure what to say?

Frank taught me how to shake hands like a man, and I still think of him today, almost 30 years later, when meetting someone new and shaking their hand.

Sorry for your loss, he was a great man. He'll be remembered by many.

Linda and family, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. I always loved seeing your mom and dad at the YMCA she was so beautiful and he was so careful to walk with her. God bless you.

Anthony, Linda, Andrew, Debbie and Families,

Your Dad is just entwined in my memories of Friday and/or Saturday nights, his pizza "pie", and his dry humor.

I picture him in that flour dusted white apron of his, and only good memories come flooding back. At least now, he and your mom are together again

Peace and Comfort to your family,
Marilyn (Lassandro) Frederick

In August of 1972 I began my teaching career at Pearl City High School and my adult life in Freeport. One of my students worked as a waiter at Cannova's and invited me to come for dinner on a night he was working.

I will never forget that evening. Mr. Cannova warmly welcomed me into his restaurant and treated me like a treasured guest. I spent many wonderful evenings there and each time Mr. Cannova spent time talking with me and making me feel very special.

He was...

Cannova family-
I was saddened to hear of Frank's passing. So many stories and laughter surrounding our highschool days @ Cannova's. It truly served as a social network for the Aquin class of '73. Thanks for the memories. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Frank's Family-
We were sad to hear of Franks passing. I was just a young kid when my folks would take us over to Winnesheck and Cannova Tavern for a pizza when pizzas were just gaining their popularity. I remember Frank behind the counter making his pies. I remember the hot cheese burning my lips and the great taste. Frank was always kidding with the patrons. My mother and the ladies of the neighborhood loved going to "Tavern Nite" on Tuesdays. I last saw Frank at AJ's funeral (he was...

Anthony, Andrew, Linda and Debbie,
Our hearts are sad to hear the news of Frank's passing. At the wedding this summer it was so good to see mom and Frank laughing. The memories of our parents doing so many things together will always be close to our hearts. Our prayers are being said but always know he is your guardian angel still watching over his family but now he is doing that with your mom at his side. Much love from your cousins in Rockford.

The last time I saw Frank was during a visit to Freeport several years ago. He was sitting in his car in the Shopko parking lot with the windows open, waiting for your Mom to return. I re-introduced myself and we chatted about about his grandkids. I asked him why he wasn't also in the store where it was cool and he said "Whadda I need to shop for?" That's the way I will remember him; blunt, funny, and a family guy. He will be missed.

My Deepest Sympathy to all of you. Your father was a wondeful man! My first job was at Cannovas and it held wonderful memories, plus living up the street when I was little. May God be with you during this difficult time.
