Frank J. Caruso Jr, age 63, of Hobart, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. Frank was born on December 15, 1957, in Gary, IN to Frank and Laura Caruso.  He was a graduate of Wirt High School, Class of 1976 and worked for US Steel Gary Works, RJ Corman, State of Indiana and Ozinga Concrete. Frank will be remembered as a son, father, grandfather, coach, mentor, and musician known as “Pops.” Loved by many, missed by all.


 He is survived by two sons, Derek J. Caruso, and Trevor (Elizabeth) Caruso; three grandchildren; mother, Laura (nee Costello) Caruso; his companion, Linda C. Young and many other loving family members and friends.


 He was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Caruso Sr.

Not sure what to say?

I was saddened yesterday when a classmate of Frank and me told of Frank's passing. We spent a lot of time together while in high school. I would watch Frank, Steve, Jerry, and Brian practice and perform their "rock concerts". We cruised Broadway in Frank's 225 Slant Six Duster that I pinstripe taped customized. We would eventually get rear-ended by the old fire station by Wilco Foods, retiring the car. I saw Frank and his sons "rockin' " the old Mr. Ono's in New Chicago a few years back. To...

My heartfelt condolences and prayers for his family. Frank and I worked together at the highway department in the 80's, he was a blast to to work with and a genuinely good man. Rest in peace my friend.
