Coach Cathey not only was involved with athletics at DuPont Senior High, but taught a photography class. I gained a love of photography for taking that class. He even had a dark room set up so we could develop our film. He was a great teacher and coach. He was truly a wonderful teacher and mentor to so many! Rest In Peace Coach Cathey.

Coach Frank Cathey was the boys Track coach and the boys assistant basketball coach when I attended DuPont High School from 1970-1974. He was a great encourager and motivator and brought out the best in the players he coached. He took his calling seriously, demanding and rewarding effort. He had a great sense of humor and seemed to really value his friendships with other coaches and teachers.
