Not sure what to say?

Sorry for loss. I read his book about Alex as a kid, probably first book that in the way he wrote explained a childs death, so heartbreaking, but he is reunited with his daughter again beyond and she is calling him my little daddy. His writings showed even a little girl can be a hero.

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing our love ones is never easy but may the love of people that surrounds you soften your grief. And may you find comfort and peace in drawing closer to God in prayer during this difficult time.

My condolences to the family. Mr DeFord was my favorite interviewer on Real Sports. I loved the content of his writing. I hope the family can go through the grieving process and find a productive way to bring honor to his name. There is hope to see him again without his having to die again.

Dear Deford family: I first read your father, grandfather and husband's words when I was 7 years old, and picked up "Alex: The Life of a Child." It remains one of the most beautiful books ever written by a parent about the love of children.
As a baseball fan, as I grew up, I eagerly read Frank's writing on sports--which were always erudite, humane and thought-provoking. As an adult, I loved listening to him on National Public Radio.
Recently, I was hospitalized with a frightening...

I read his book about "Alex". You could tell it was written from his heart. My grandson was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 1981. I could identify with his feelings. I am thankful for his involvement with the CF foundation. He was a great man with a purpose in life.

With deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. May it comfort you to know that Frank will return to the days of his youthful vigor as promised at Job 33:25.

My sincere condolences to the family who have lost their loved one to death. God will comfort and sustain you during this difficult time because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6,7)

I loved to read his articles in SI. he had a very unique form of writing that I think made good contact with his readers.
RIP Frank,
