Not sure what to say?

Dr Dinan was a graduate student of my father Howard Tieckelmann at UB. UB was a private school back then. My father always held Dr Dinan in high regard. When I had a difficulty with the second semester of Organic Chemistry at UB, my father suggested I wait and take the course again during the summer with Dr Dinan... as a visiting lecturer at UB! Dr Dinan was a "beautiful expositor" of Organic Chemistry. It was sheer joy to attend lectures. His enthusiasm was infectious. Every lecture started...

Loved you Dad. He taught me so many things about science and life. His sense of humor was one of unique. I will miss him forever...

Dr. Dinan was the person who made me want to pursue chemistry as a career. He was, quite frankly, the best professor I had at Canisius. His teaching method, using humor to illustrate certain chemical reactions (*AHEM* SN2 reactions) is how I still remember them to this day. It's rare that someone has such an impact on a person, but I owe Dr. Dinan much. I've had a very successful career of 36 years now and it is in large part thanks to him. I frequently pass on some of his stories to the...

We had the privilege of living next door to Frank and Ann for over 40 years. We shared many good times, much laughter, some tears and one memorable afternoon of ice cream daiquiris on our porch.

Dear Kathleen, Terry, and family: Thank you for sharing your Dad/Grandfather with us for so long! Love, Ken and Pam

We were fortunate enough to know Frank, Ann, and their family for over 50 years, beginning when we first returned to Buffalo in 1970. Frank was always a consummate scientist, a brilliant chemist and researcher who loved science best when he could teach it to his students! Frank was a trailblazer of 'collaborative learning,' and taught his courses and workshops collaboratively rather than by lecturing, since (as in all things with Frank) everything was better when shared. But Frank...

I met Frank when his lovely daughter Terry married my brother Leroy, was entertained royally in their home at that time. our paths never crossed again but hear lots of tale about good times spent with him. prayers and my sympathy to the entire family at your loss of this beloved man.

Frank will be sorely missed by all those who were so fortunate to know and work with him . He was a superb teacher who cared deeply about his students . His colleagues Admired him for working hard to make Canisius a better place for all of us . I shall miss his wise advice , warm humor , and deeply humanistic vision of life . Bob Butler

Frank was a loving light, to say the very least. He was the reason I became a chemistry major. He is the kindest person I have ever met. I always looked forward to attending his organic chemistry team learning class, and I even asked to be his TA because he made learning so much fun. His kindness and encouragement always lifted me up. Whenever I feel sad, I remember his teachings from the time we spent together at Canisius College and I immediately feel my heart swell up. I will never forget...
