Frank V. Elizalde

ELIZALDE, Frank V. - Of Swartz Creek, formerly of California, age 79, died Friday, January 3, 2003 at VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral service will be held at 10AM Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Tim officiating. Burial in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Visitation 2-9PM Monday at the funeral home. Frank was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 29, 1923, the son of the late Juan and Avelina Elizalde and was a resident of California for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Phillipines. Frank married Victoria Sanchez and she preceded him in death in 1961. Frank then married Lili Lender on July 27, 1962 in Carson City, Nevada. He was a life member of the American Legion and was an avid fisherman. Frank retired from Hughes Aircraft Corporation. Surviving are wife, Lili; 7 children, Francisco and wife Patricia of Colorado, Robert of California, Ricardo, Fernando and Jim, all of Colorado, Teresa and husband Kevin Terry of Swartz Creek and Dan of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny V. and wife Josephine Elizalde Jr. of Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Jerry and sister, Margarita Villanueva.
