CLOSED-Harvey Family Funeral Home Obituary

Frank Fragomeni peacefully passed away at home with family on August 4, 2023 at the age of 94 in Seattle, WA.

Frank will be deeply missed by his daughters, Anna Fragomeni and Francesca Bianco; sons-in-law, Brian Bonlender and Marco Bianco; grandchildren, Emilia Luna Francesca Bonlender, Olivia Soleil Beseke, and Truman Ronald Bonlender; and ex-wife Vincenza Falcone.  He left behind many other loving family members including nephews, Frank Fragomeni, Domenic Fragomeni, Frank Panetta, Domenic Panetta, Francesco Fragomeni, Domenic Fragomeni Jr., Bob Donnoli, Gary Reinert, Eric Reinert, Daniel Reinert, and Tom Campbell; nieces, Theresa Fragomeni, Dee Fragomeni, Anna Panetta, Franca Ingoglia, Terry Reinert, Lucrezia Ingoglia Campbell, and Lisa Correia.   Frank was preceded in death by his father, Francesco Fragomeni, mother, Anna Mazza Cursaro, stepfather, Antonio Cursaro, brothers, Domenic Fragomeni and Vincent Cursaro, sister, Caterina Panetta, brother-in-law, Cosimo Panetta, sister-in-law, Giulia Fragomeni, niece, Julie Fragomeni Kravcisin, and nephews, Joe Ingoglia and Robert Ingoglia.  Words cannot express the deep loss that is felt as our family mourns one of its most treasured and admirable members.

Frank’s story is one that exemplifies the American Dream.  He was born in San Nicola, Reggio Calabria, Italy on June 5, 1929.  He surpassed many hardships as a young child having lost his father during infancy and enduring the Great Depression and World War II.  However, he never lacked the love of his family and friends in the small mountain town community where he lived until the age of 21.  Frank’s journey of realizing the American Dream began with finding his father’s United States passport among the personal effects sent back from the United States after his passing.  Frank promptly gained United States citizenship, leading him to Ellis Island in 1950. After settling in Cleveland, Ohio Frank worked his way up to being a traffic manager of shipping and receiving at Hupp Inc. where he remained for 35 years.  He married Vincenza Falcone on May 9, 1971 after meeting her on a trip to Italy.  Frank’s strong work ethic allowed him to buy a home in Richmond Heights, Ohio in 1983.  Frank sacrificed himself working tirelessly into his 70’s, without complaint, so his children could attain a college education and own a home. He instilled in both daughters the values of education and giving back to the community and those less fortunate.

Frank was truly one of a kind. Anyone who knew Frank experienced his endless love, generosity, humility, honesty, joy, positivity, humor, selflessness, compassion, strong work ethic, dedication to family and his faith in God. Frank always greeted everyone with a huge smile and open arms. He was an avid gardener and loved making pasta with his delicious tomato sauce for all who came to his home. Frank was a peacemaker, at times transcending his age and generation, as he reminded us of what was truly important- love, faith, family, and friendship. He was a pillar to his family, offering strength during trying times. Even in his final days, he still wanted to care for them and reveled in the joy of seeing his grandchildren play, laugh, and grow. Frank’s unconditional loving spirit will live on in the hearts of family and friends as they continue his legacy of spreading love and kindness into this world.
