The book of life turned its final page for Frank "Paco" Greene on February 3, 2024. Paco had a gift for making people feel special, and for creating community around him. He had a huge heart. Paco was born on August 18, 1933, in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the midst of the Great Depression. Paco and...

Not sure what to say?

Frank influenced me in so many ways, but perhaps the most significant was his dedication and knowledge of the teaching of reading. The first course I took from Frank was one of many, all thanks to Frank. I am truly indebted to Frank. Thank you Frank for your support through many years.

My sincere condolences to you Carol, and all the family, and the wide community Frank touched with all his gifts. He was one of a kind!

Bread-maker. Jewelry - maker . Chef. Photographer. Archivist . Community - Builder . Kindest of Neighbours . Many, many games of cribbage played at Baie de Gris one August. Frank would always correct me if I ever addressed him as ' Mr. Green ' or ' Dr. Greene '. He was the biggest man I met with an actual first name ! Kindest of friends. Thoughts and prayers to Carol , Erick, Katie - Gail, Greg and Kimb xo Daintry Norman

When Gary and I first began playing fundraising concerts at the UCM, Frank and Carol were very supportive. He voluntarily designed elegant programmes for our concerts and took pictures of our family’s musical exploits. Then as president, Frank had the church raise both Trudy’s and my salaries. We have cherished the many sweet photos-cards he sent our son as his Secret Buddy. Frank always addressed our daughter as Nessa. And then there were the Burn and Scrape years of the Collective...

I met Paco when visiting Greg and Judi’s home during one summer about 15 years ago with my Aunt, Laurie. He was very kind and welcoming. Warm regards to the family during this time.

I had the great opportunity to meet with Paco towards the end of his life and to get to know his exceptional family. I had the great privilege to be his doctor.
Although very fragile, he was a kind man resilient and opened minded. There was a tsunami of love around him. I kept thinking that he must have been a loving husband and father.
I am so thankful to his family for letting me be part of them
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Céline Laferrière

I would like to thank Dr. Greene for confirming a very important waypoint in my flight. 1978, quite lost, I read an article in Homemaker's Magazine by Marilyn Linton, 'The Plight of the Bright: Smart kids have their problems too'. In the fall of 1978 I meet with Dr. Bruce Shore of McGill University, referenced in Ms. Linton's article. He listens and refers me to Dr. Greene. With Dr. Green I explain my development, and how, with virtually no memory, I have to create diagrams to associate and...

Uncle Paco - Thank you for showing me a different picture of the world at a young age. The Greene family let me live with them for a summer in Syracuse, NY while I improved my reading skills with one of Paco’s graduate students.

I was in my early teens and had grown up in a rural/suburb of St Paul, Minnesota. Syracuse was a new experience. I still remember the unfamiliar hustle and bustle of urban life. The first impressions of a neighborhood with lots of children my age,...

Our family repeats these words first uttered by mum (Nancy) as if a mantra, "The world isn't the same without Frank". We are gutted and heart-broken and forever grateful to the love, care and guidance he shared with mum (and the rest of us as we moved in and out of the picture over time). Holding you Carol, Eric, Greg, Kate, and Kimb with love.
