Frank James Hart – 56, of Hart Road, Duxbury, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 10, 2003. He was a former resident of Georgia VT for 26 years. Born in Burlington on August 29, 1946 he was the son of Lucille (O’Connor) Hart and the late Frank E. Hart. On May 7, 1976, he married the former Jean Rittweger in Burlington.

James, as he was commonly known, was a 1966 graduate of South Burlington High School. He worked with his father for several years at the F.E. Hart Fence Co. until he served in Vietnam from 1968-69 where he received the Medal of Merit. Following his discharge, he worked for the City of Burlington for 11 years in Parks and Recreation, he was employed as a technician for IBM for 9 years and worked as a truck driver for New England Motor Freight for 7 years. Most recently he was employed in construction and was a driver for Georgia – Pacific.

He was a member of the AFL-CIO Machinist Union. In his leisure time he enjoyed a variety of activities including snow-mobiling, motorcycle riding, hiking, skiing, hunting and working on his property.

James is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jean Hart of Duxbury; his mother, Lucille Hart of Duxbury; 2 sons, Glenn Hart and his wife, Cheryl of Neshanic Station NJ and Todd Hart and his wife, Randi of Kauui HI; a grandson, Brandon Hart; his bother, Edward J. Hart of Williston; his in-laws, Edwin and Catherine Rittweger of Chatham NJ; 2 nieces; his 2 special Dalmatians, Abby and Niki as well as his 5 cats. He was predeceased by his father, Frank E. Hart on August 30, 2000.

Memorial services will be held from the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home in Waterbury on Monday at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. Inurnment will take place in Hope Cemetery, Waterbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Country Animal League, 3524 Laporte Road, Morristown VT 05661. I'm very sorry to hear about Jim. Jean and the rest of the family have my heartfelt condolences.

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of my childhood friend Jimmy Hart .This is the name that i always new him by. We were the best of friends growing up, and i have so many fond memories of Jim Ed and myself when we were young boys .I will always cherish these memories . My thought's and prayers are with all the family at this time.
