Not sure what to say?

I, too, would like to give my thanks to the great gym teacher and referee at the Jewish Community Center, Meredith Junior High, and where I wound up at Urbandale High School. I'm sure he and Roger Aceto are calling a game up there.

Several of the Iowa high school sports scene congregate in the Winter where we live in Florida.

I thank them for what they did for so many years for so many young people.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Frank and Dutch have been guiding lights throughout my life, their joy, their wisdom and their love. Farewell dear Uncle Frank

Mr. Harty was our gym teacher at Lucas Elementary in the late 50's/early 60's. Many of us are still friends and still talk about him fondly. One of our classmates shared the pic I just posted. We are having a class reunion in May celebrating 50 years of graduation from East High School, and I'm sure he will be a topic of discussion for those of us lucky enough to have had him as a teacher!

Mr. Harty and students outside Lucas Elementary

When I was playing high school basketball I was surprised at one game to discover that Uncle Frank was one of the referees. (I'm sure he was surprised to see me too)! He warned me that he wasn't going to let me cheat. I wouldn't have anyway -I was never that skilled. Uncle Frank was one of the few Boyd uncles who didn't lose his temper when the topic of sports came up. He always seemed more amused than anything else. What a beautiful obituary about a man who loved his family and lived life well

Mr. Hardy was my gym teacher at Meredith in 1963 and I thought the world of him .My thoughts and prayers to the family. Tim Matheny Des Moines

I would like to express my condolences to Dutchie and the family for Frank's passing. Reading through the obituary brought back lots of fond memories. Frank was one of the Great ones! God's Blessings to the family.
