Not sure what to say?

Blessings to you sir ! Rest in Peace In God's Keeping !

Frank was a friend of my sweet Mom, Helen Gerner. They grew up together in Berkeley and I'm pretty sure he attended her San Pablo Park reunions. She and my step-dad, Carl Gerner spoke about Frank and his being a prison guard on Alacatraz, the book and the red and white fleet. My sisters and I were raised in Albany too. I ordered his book today and I'm finally going to read it. I know my Mom had it but I have no idea where it ended up when we cleaned out house. May he RIP.

Frank is the grandfather of my ex wife. From the very first time i met frank and jean i felt like i was part of the family. Even after my wife and i seperated it was clear that i was and always will be a part of thier family and there was always a place at the table for me during the holidays. I cant put into words the amount of love this family has shown me and i am proud to be a part of the heaney family rest in peace pappa

I´m so sad to hear of the passing of Frank. He signed his book for me when we went on a tour of the prison and we spoke for a while. RIP Frank.

We met Frank in 1998 during a visit to Alcatraz from the UK. He was a lovely guy and really brought the human touch to the whole experience. We still have our signed copy of Frank´s book and are revisiting Alcatraz this weekend. We´re so sad to hear of his passing, he was such a lovely man.

My wife and I meet Frank on Valentines Day 2007. Frank was super nice and talk to us like we were old friends. Being from Upstate NY. Seeing Alcatraz up close. Frank made our visit memorable. Thanks Frank! RIP!

I met Frank in 1993, when I was visiting Alcatraz. I was a curious 12yr old who was fascinated by him and his book. I very often come across my signed book, and smile. Why a wonderful man, with such a colourful life. May he rest in peace. Gemma, Hertfordshire, UK.

I met Frank in 1987 when he was on tour promoting his book. About 1991, he graciously gave me and my sons, then 8 and 5, a personal tour of The Rock. He was a kind and gracious man, and I'm sorry to learn of his passing.
