Send FlowersFrank Patrick Kanapaux IV MT. PLEASANT - Frank Patrick Kanapaux IV of Mt. Pleasant, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 5, 2009. Frank was born in Charleston, a son of the late Frank Patrick Kanapaux III and Constance Finnegan Kanapaux, on Wednesday, February 5, 1958. He was a graduate of Wando High School in 1976 . Frank was a sea man at heart and grew up East of the Cooper where he worked as a shrimper, a sword fisherman, a merchant seaman and was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association Local 1771. Frank worked on the Charleston waterfront for the past several years Frank is survived and will be remembered by his son, Frank Patrick Kanapaux V , his mother, Adrienne Kanapaux. his sisters, Renee Kanapaux Murphy and Tammy Kanapaux Erwin, his brother, Michel Kanapaux along with their families as well as his mother, Constance Finnegan Kanapaux, He also leaves behind many friends who thought the world of him. The relatives and friends of Frank P. Kanapaux IV are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Friday, October 9, 2009, at the Graveside, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 PM. Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Charleston, Inc, 3870 Leeds Ave, Suite 101, North Charleston, SC 29405.They were a great comfort to Frank and his family. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Frankie.I too have great memories of the times I shared with Frankie while growing up in Mt. Pleasant and going to school with him.I lost touch with Frankie over the years, but ran into to him a few years ago. He still had the great looks and beautiful smile and as always just a genuine guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

Frankie was a great asset to us here at the military port in Charleston. He was always smiling, always laughing, and on occasion giving us a hard time in documentation :) He knew the importance of supporting our soldiers and he did this very well.
He has been missed, it has been a while since we last saw him. Adrienne,my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family....

Ms Kanapaux, I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Frankie it seems all my life even though we did not see each other much after we became adults. I have great memories of Frankie, Darryl Sneed & Perry Fant coming over to the IOP & we would hang out waiting for the surf to come up. I'm sure he & Darryl will be catching a few waves together now. You and your family will be in my thoughts & prayers.

Connie, Renee, and family, I am so sorry about your son and brother's death. It just isn'r fair to lose such a fine person so young. I worked with Frank @ the outport in North Charleston. Great person to know. Always friendly and upbeat.
We compared notes on our sons. Frankie, he always talked highly of you!
He would bring in his art work to show it off. He painted a picture of the "Thunderstar" for me to give to my husband, who was the captain of the boat @ the time. His art work will help carry the memory of him.
Adrienne, it was good to see and talk to you a couple of weeks ago....
