Romi,and girls

Hi this is Romi, Heather and Holly you "may" remember me somewhat, Marisa I doubt you do honey...I was thinking about you Romi. My son who is now 10 and I were talking about where names come from and how we came up with his sisters name, and I told him about where my name came from. I was really thinking about you and got on the computer and was directed to this. I am so very sorry for your loss, he was always bigger than life and I have great memories of the Lies...

I'm truely sorry for the loss of your father.I have fond memories of watching him at the State Fair Track. On one occasion Frankie had won a race and after receiving his trophy from the trophy girl he took her by the elbow and escorted her back to her car.My mother turned to me and said " Now there is a true gentlemen." He was always my favorite driver, but after that day I think he was my mothers too. Thanks Frankie for all the thrilling racing you entertained us with and may you rest in piece.

To the Frankie Lies Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Frankie, I was so fortunate to watch him race for many years. My earliest memories of him were in that unforgettable Blue #55. What a combination they were! Anytime they pulled into the pits, everyone took notice.
Then it was on to the #56 coupes, and nothing changed. They were always fun to watch, and a force to be reckoned with. What a great competitor and champion he was!
And as...

To the Lies Family

We would like to express our deepest condolences for your loss. I'm sorry for the late entry, I just found out from my parents. My father first met Frankie back in the late 50's, early 60's at 81 Speedway when he drove an ambulance and wrecker. He remembers several occasions when that German temper got the best of him and helmets went flying. :) As for me, I first met Frankie when we both shared the same house number in Wichita, but were a block apart. The...

I grew up in the 1960's watching Frankie race. He was one of my all time favorites. This summer I was able to meet several members of his family at the Belleville Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. They brought several pictures of Frank that I have added to my personal collection.

I will never forget the #55 super or the man behind the wheel. He was a great champion and a better person.

Just saw that Frankie had passed and wanted to say that he touched many lives. I remember meeting Frankie on the Straightaway of Tulsa Speedway after he had won an "A" feature. He was driving the old full bodied #55, I was about 10yr old at the time and I remember telling him that it looked like the car had been handpainted but it sure did run. Frankie smiled and said " well we only spend the money where it counts!" He let me set in his car and pretend that I was driving, that was the...

Romi, I just heard that your husband, Frank, died. I know you and your daughters have experienced a loss this season, but are thankful for the life you shared. Condolences, and prayers for you and yours during the holiday season.

I was born in 1960. During 1966 my father started taking me to the races at 81 Speedway. My favorite race driver was Frankie Lies. I remember a white #56 and then my favorite racer was a blue full body #55. I thought Frankie was the greatest driver ever until he left the speedway in the late 1970s. Funny thing was that my dad went for Harold Leep. He thought he had to pick someone else since Frankie was my driver. The neat thing was that if Harold couldn't win, then we both went for Frankie. ...
