Frank and Mabel have been a part of my family for many, many years . My Dad & Frank were the best of friends. A day wouldn't go by that my Dad would''t go to their home, see each other at the Portuguese Club or even at the laundromat. When there was a Red Sox game on, one would call the other to make sure they were watching. I have been to their house so often, it kind of felt like home. Frank Lopes was a good man. I spent much time at the Lopes' home on Ingram Street in South Hadley in the 1960's, with my best high school friend Carl. Frank and Mabel were always very good to me. I have the best of memories, such as Frank trying to teach me to read a Portuguese newspaper, or me trying to pronounce the wonderful Portuguese dishes that Mrs. Lopes made for us.
