Frank P. McInerney 1926 - 2010 SOUTH HADLEY - Frank was a lifelong learner and educator, dedicated through word and deed to his family and community. His wisdom and quiet listening earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor, while he was the first to recognize the ridiculous and revel in the...

Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Mr McInerney so close to his birthday. He was the principal of the elementary school in Granby and we shared the same birthday. I remember the years he would call me to his office and give me a birthday card and wish me "Happy Birthday". What a great man.

I was saddened to learn of Frank's passing today. I first met Frank in the mid-sixties while I was on staff at WHYN-TV.
Frank's generosity and help enriched many young local photographers of the time. He once surprised me by making a statement that was contrary to my thinking. Later in life I would conclude that his philosophy was just and proper, even more so in these tough economic times.
Many years have passed since I last saw Frank, but I have never forgotten his character.

Teki & Family,

I have such wonderful memories of Frank, you, Teki Ann, "young" Frank, and even "Mac" the St. Bernard. You all did so much for me and I will always be indebted to you. Working for Fran-Tek during my high school and college years was a valuable learning experience and the money was great too! Both of you were always so accomodating and generous to all of us who worked for you. During the last couple of summers before I went away to college, I practically lived at...

I was fortunate to be one of the students who always enjoyed assemblies in the cafetorium because Mr. McInerny spoke to us and he always had an amusing story to tell. Carolyn Paulin

"Gentleman." Next to that word in Webster's Dictionary should be Frank's picture for he was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I had the pleasure of working with him during my "Dave Scott" years at Channel 40. I was taken by the wishes expressed in his obituary that it shouldn't shine a spotlight on his accomplishments because he exhibited that kind of humility in his life and careers as a broadcaster and educator, and went about his work with quiet professionalism. In fact, he'd...

Teki and Family-

I had the privilege of working with Frank when he did the "Conversations With" program here at WHYN-TV.

I will always remember his smile and his wit.

I also have an earlier memory of Frank when he was the principal of Granby Jr.-Sr. High School when I was in 7th grade there. One day he made an announcement that in honor of the birth of his daughter everyone got a free ice cream sandwich with lunch....as a 7th grader that made a big impression...

It is with remembrances of laughter and good time shared with Frank during our days at the old WHYN-TV, Channel 40 that will always be a highlight of my life. There are no words to adequately express sorrow and sadness at the loss of a person of the quality of Frank, but know that my love and thoughts are with his family.

Teki and family:
We are saddened to hear of the passing of our friend, Frank.
My memories go back to the sixties when I was a photographer shooting for his sports shows on WHYN-TV. And the many hours spent in your basement on Saturday nights processing football films!
Frank made his mark in the community in many ways and will be long-remembered.
Nancy and I have you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Teki and family:
Roy and I are so sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you and your family. You are in our prayers always.
