Sorry to say we'll miss Frank's service as we'll be out of country. Frank was an inspiration to thousands of Scouts at Pioneer. Scouts and leaders alike were somewhat in awe of Frank's knowledge and motivation to share his love of the earth and it's future. Scouts loved hanging out in Ecology to see the exhibits or look up a bird they had seen, and especially write up their Ecology Merit Badge! Well Done Mr Merritt!

I am sorry we are just learning of Frank's passing. We were neighbors for several years while our children were young. They have fond memories of his stories and his trains and were delighted to cross paths with him at the Scout Shop last year. Frank was a delight and we are very sorry for your loss.

Frank was a friend, through thick & thin, for sixty years. We 1st met while we were attending Hiram College. A true teacher, not only at the university but to the many scouts who passed through his classes at Pioneer. We miss his sound advice and thoughtful commentary on the events of the day.
