Dear Martha and Frank's children:
I was so sorry to learn about Frank's death. Martha has been a long-time friend from 20 years ago in Shrewsbury and New Freedom, Pa. Frank made her so happy -- I will miss the email tales about their latest adventures . . but won't miss learning about the frightning trips to the hospital.
Frank now has LOTS of geography to explore!
Sincerely,
Clare Cox

I met your dad when he was stationed in St. Paul in 1956. He was my
husband's room mate. We introduced him to you mom, Myrna. We had
Wonderful Times together! We loved them both, and still do. Your mom
and I are still close friends. You're in our prayers.

Betsy, Joe and families,
I remember your dad with fondness. His sense of humor and observations on life often left me laughing. May the good memories of him continue for both of you.

I knew Frank as mayor, and later when he was in graduate school. While he graduated from a very good department, I could have told him that there wasn't much demand for tenure-track geographers. Knowing Frank, that probably would not have deterred him!

My sympathy goes to Frank's family in Minnesota and the Boston area. Frank and I became friends in the 1960's. We played softball in St. Louis Park, played a little golf and did some fishing in the TC area and up at Lake Minnewawa. We had many laughs during that time. He was one of the best fielding center fielders I ever played with.

I am sorry for your loss. I remember your dad was quite a character. No matter the timing or peacefulness of the passing, it is never easy to say goodbye.
