I was in Vallejo, California the other day and reminiscing about Frank to the fellow who ran the coffee shop where we met. Miss Frank and that wonderful mind of his.

I was very sorry to hear of Frank's passing he was one of the most interesting people I have met. I miss the coffee and the interesting political fights in Vallejo, CA. in the 1990's. Especially the car show.

General Schober you were my commander in the 52d SiGnal Battalion and gave me the privilege of serving directly under you as a company commander and as battalion adjutant. Command responsibility seemed to rest easily on your shoulders and that inspired all of us to ignore any anxiety we might have felt at living and working in a war zone. Your advice to me as a young man and soldier stayed with me throughout my life and I quoted you in conversations frequently during the 40+ years that...

You sir, signed my commission as a 2nd LT back in 1976, and handed me my "butter bar" (2nd Lieutenant gold bar). You were a great leader and improved the CAARNG by your leadership, ethics and example. You were an Officer we aspired to emulate. To the general's family:
May The Lord bless you and keep you;
May The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
May The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.'

Rest in peace my dear friend, Frank. I loved your total commitment to what was right and your love of the Episcopal Church and our Rosary group. Clearly you were a erudite and my life was blessed by numbering you among my friends, Maggie Hefley (San Antonio,Tx)
