Frank E. Spicer, Jr., 59, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at a local hospital. While living in Norfolk, VA, Frank attended Holy Trinity Elementary School, Norfolk Catholic High School and Old Dominion University. While at Old Dominion, he was a member of TKE Fraternity. At the time of his death, he was part owner of Frank Spicer Restaurant Equipment Company, where he worked for 30 years. He is survived by his father, Frank E. Spicer, Sr. of Newport News, VA; a daughter, Katherine L. Spicer of Atlanta, GA; a son, Andrew E. Spicer of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Susan Barnes and husband Walter of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandee Spicer-Byrd and husband Daniel of Virginia Beach, VA and Donna Muse husband Mike of Beaver Dam, VA; a brother, Lee Spicer and wife Nancy of Yorktown, VA; three nieces, Morgan, Emily and Ashley; and two nephews, Stephen and Ben. Frank was a great supporter of his community and local charities such as the Zoolala for the Norfolk Zoo and CHKD. His passion for music and sports lead him to become an athlete of the Norfolk Neptunes and playing rhythm guitar in his band The Drakes. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
